We needed to hire a senior ML engineer in Bangalore within the month. Neeva Technologies had the contract drafted in a day and our hire was onboarded in 48 hours. The compliance piece was completely invisible to us — exactly how it should be.

We were worried about Indian PF and PT regulations. Our dedicated HR manager explained everything clearly and handled all filings from the start. Eighteen months later, not a single compliance issue. Genuinely impressive.

We scaled our Hyderabad GCC from 8 to 60 people in under a year using Neeva Technologies. They made every hire predictable — same process, same speed, zero compliance surprises. We couldn’t have grown that fast without them.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about hiring in India through an EOR. Can’t find your answer? Ask us directly.

What is an Employer of Record (EOR)?
An Employer of Record is a third-party organisation that legally employs workers on behalf of a client company. Neeva Technologies becomes the legal employer for your Indian hires — managing all employment contracts, payroll, statutory deductions, and labour-law compliance — while you retain full day-to-day management of the employee’s work.
Do I need a local entity or subsidiary in India?
No. That’s the core benefit of using an EOR. We are the registered legal employer in India, so you have no need to set up a private limited company, branch office, or liaison office. This removes months of entity registration time and ongoing compliance overhead.
How quickly can you onboard a new employee?
In most cases, 48 hours from when you give us the go-ahead. We draft the employment contract, get digital signatures, enrol the employee in statutory benefits (PF, ESI, gratuity), and configure payroll — all within two business days. The employee receives their offer letter and joining kit the same day the contract is signed.
Which Indian employment laws do you cover?
We cover the full spectrum of Indian labour law including Provident Fund (PF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Professional Tax (PT), Gratuity, Shops & Establishment Acts (state-specific), the Payment of Bonus Act, Maternity Benefit Act, POSH compliance, and applicable provisions of the new Labour Codes. Our compliance team tracks legislative updates and automatically adjusts payroll and contracts.
How does payroll work and when do employees get paid?
You transfer a consolidated amount (gross salaries + employer contributions + our service fee) to us before a set funding date each month. We then process payroll, deduct all statutory contributions, and credit net salaries directly to each employee’s bank account on the agreed pay date — typically the last working day of the month or the 1st.
Can I convert an existing contractor to a full-time employee?
Yes. Contractor-to-employee conversions are straightforward. We review the existing working relationship, draft a compliant employment contract, and handle the transition including statutory enrolments. This is one of the most common use cases we handle — and it reduces your risk of worker misclassification significantly.
What happens if I need to terminate an employee?
We guide you through every step of the process to ensure it is legally compliant. This includes serving the correct notice period (or paying in lieu), calculating and disbursing gratuity where applicable, issuing Form 16 and relieving letters, and closing out PF and ESI contributions. Indian employment law has specific termination requirements and our team navigates these for you.
How is pricing structured?
We charge a flat monthly fee per employee — no percentage-of-salary model, no hidden setup fees, no forex markups. You receive a detailed invoice each month showing gross salary, employer statutory contributions, and our service fee as separate line items.
